Connect and Serve!
At Community United Church there are many opportunities for service. We are a community that believes worship, love, and human service are all ways of connecting to God. Join us!
- We provide bagged lunches for our neighbors in need at the Upper Room on the third Sunday of the month.
- We have an Open and Affirming team, for outreach to- and affirmation of the LGBTQ community of Erie.
- We have a maintenance committee dedicated to the physical care of our facility.
- We provide a monthly meal at the Liberty House to connect with and serve U.S. veterans.
- We have a hospitality committee dedicated to making church events enjoyable and nice.
- We have a spiritual care team, which receives two months of training in order to go out and care for the spiritual and emotional needs of others.
- We have education and worship committees for creating dynamic opportunities for learning and devotion.
- We have rotating youth programming, from children's church on Sunday morning to special youth events throughout the year.

Opportunities to Serve
Community United Church offers multiple opportunities to serve our neighbors in need. Join us on the second Tuesday of the month as we prepare and share a dinner with U.S. veterans at the Liberty House. Likewise, on the third Sunday of the month we prepare bagged lunches and deliver them to people in need at the Upper Room in downtown Erie. If you are interested in volunteering, please Contact Us.
CUC stands for social justice! If you are interested in standing with a faith community for justice and inclusion, let us know! We participate in many social marches and festivals that work towards greater equality and inclusion. This for us, is part of what it means to live on earth as it is in heaven.

Opportunities to Connect
Community United Church hosts multiple opportunities for social connection.
- Join us every Sunday from 10:15 - 10:50 AM for our coffee social (with light snacks provided).
- You may also enjoy coming to our Supper and Scripture study sessions on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM (September - May of each year).
- Likewise, our monthly contemplative evening service, Resonate, always offers a social time after the 7:00 PM service on the third Wednesday of the month.

Opportunities to Grow in Faith
Our weekly Sunday worship is at 11:00 AM, in which we reflect on scripture, come to the Table, and offer opportunities for prayer and praise.
Supper and Study is a monthly scripture class that takes place on the first Wednesday of the month, beginning at 6:30 PM.
Resonate services take place on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the sanctuary. These are “sermon free” services full of music, readings, prayer, and contemplation. It is followed by a wine and tapas reception afterwards–at which we talk about our lives, the good, the funny, the difficult, and the things that matter to us most.
Spirits and Spirituality is a monthly "pub theology" discussion group at rotating pubs and restaurants in Erie, PA. We pull substantive topics about faith and life from a hat and discuss (no right or wrong answers, just mutual sharing). Join us the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 PM. Please contact the church office for locations each month.
