I think many of us know what it feels like to live in that space between what used to be and whatever comes next. It can feel unsettling. We want answers, reassurance, and some sense that things are going to be okay. Yet the followers of Jesus understood something important during one of those uncertain moments in their lives — they stayed together. They prayed, supported one another, and refused to let fear or uncertainty pull them apart. There is something deeply meaningful about that for us today.
People are tired right now. You can feel it in everyday conversations, in the faces of people standing in line at the grocery store, and in the quiet worries many carry without talking about them out loud. Life has been heavy for a lot of folks. Still, I continue to see goodness all around me. I see neighbors helping neighbors. I see friends reaching out with a simple phone call. I see people sitting together over coffee, listening without trying to fix everything. Those moments may seem small, but I believe they matter more than we realize. They remind us we were never meant to carry life by ourselves.
Maybe faithfulness in this season is not about having all the answers. Maybe it is simply about continuing to show up for one another with compassion, patience, and hope. I believe there is still strength in gentle people, still power in kindness, and still healing that comes when we choose connection over isolation. In a weary world, people who keep encouraging others, keep loving their neighbors, and keep believing better days are possible become a quiet light for everyone around them.
Prayer:
God, when life feels heavy, help us keep showing up for one another with kindness and hope. Remind us that even small acts of compassion can bring light into someone’s day.
