After careful consideration, the Church Council unanimously approved the following new COVID guidelines:
- Community United Church strongly recommends masks in worship for those who are vaccinated (with the exception of pastors, lectors, and worship leaders who are ministering from the altar area).
- However, if you sit next to children under 12, please wear a mask (as the vaccine is not yet available for them).
- Finally, if you are unvaccinated, masks are required. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask at this time, we invite you to worship at home via our live and online option.
Community United Church is committed to loving our neighbor, which in this case means seeking to keep people healthy and safe. The COVID-19-Delta variant—and current caseloads in Erie county—represent an important moment for us to live into our gospel values. We do so by making small changes to protect the greater good.
