“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” — John 1:5, NRSV
As June draws to a close and the sun lingers just a bit longer in the evening sky, we are gifted with these longest days—hours filled not only with light, but with invitation. Invitation to pause, to reflect, to breathe more deeply. These are days to honor both joy and weariness, celebration and stillness. God meets us in it all, gently reminding us that every season, even one stretched by light and longing, carries the promise of renewal.
In this sacred stretch of time between what has been and what is yet to come, we are reminded of God's faithful rhythm in our lives. We don’t have to rush to the next thing. Instead, we are invited to dwell in gratitude for the beauty already unfolding. Even in the quiet or uncertain places, there is light that cannot be extinguished. The Spirit is at work—in the laughter of children, in the softness of evening air, in the quiet prayers we whisper when no one else is around. We are never alone in the waiting.
So as we prepare to step into July, may we carry with us what truly matters: moments of kindness, glimpses of grace, and the quiet assurance that God’s light is always with us. Let’s move forward with hearts open to possibility, grounded in hope, and anchored in love. These long days are not empty—they are filled with the presence of the One who shines in every darkness and calls us to shine, too
