Monday Thoughts

Douglas Hearn | Monday May 8th, 2023

“Speak Lord. I am listening" from 1 Samuel 3:9 is a powerful reminder of the importance of being open and receptive to God's voice in our lives. This voice can come from a variety of sources, but it is up to us to listen with an open heart and mind.

God's voice may come through prayer or meditation. We may seek out moments of silence and solitude in order to connect with the divine and listen for guidance and direction. We may find that God's voice speaks to us through music, art, or nature. These experiences can be deeply moving and can help us to connect with something larger than ourselves.

Many of us recognize that God's voice can come from unexpected sources. We believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity, and we understand that God can speak to us through people from different backgrounds and cultures. We strive to listen to the voices of marginalized communities and to work towards creating a more just and equitable world for all.

God's voice can guide us, but ultimately it is up to us to act on that guidance and make a positive difference in the world. We are called to be active agents of change, using our voices and our actions to make the world a better place for all people.
