On Sunday, August 7, we'll consider what it means to walk by faith, in hope. While "faith and hope" sound like gentle virtues, they are actually fiercely strong. To walk by faith, in hope requires letting go of control and giving ourselves over to a life of encounter. That can be a scary thing for a lot of us. This is why Christ's words to us are so often, "don't be afraid." What we'll learn is that on the other side of control and fear is a dynamic way of spiritual living, which makes us open to communion with God, people, and all of creation.
